An afternoon walk along the Ystwyth and Tanybwlch beach proved more rewarding than initially thought. Up along the river the only birds to be seen were Starlings, Crows and Jackdaws out on the fields and the odd distant gull! Back along to the end of the beach again nothing to be seen -- and then seven Oyster Catchers flew in and settled on the rocks and drifting in to the shore were three rafts of Widgeon of 5, 9 and 20 birds - soon retreated out to sea again when the inevitable dog walkers came along. Back along to the carpark a flurry of thrushes and a lone Goosander dropping in to the river.
