6.30am Pont Einon: sedge warb in hedge, 2 male bullfinches on blackthorn blossom, willow warbs and a grasshopper w singing out on bog plus 2 redshank on mud at river edge.
Boardwalk:7.15am NO snipe heard or seen but a 30+ group of swallows and sand martins were feeding and perching(all together) in a scrubby willow. Probably a migrant flock which had over nighted in the bushes so hopefully we'll see more swallows yet. Redshank called, skylark sang above its peat dome nest area in spite of curious sprouting of bamboo canes with bird scaring red and white plastic streamers!!
No whitethroat in usual place by willow arch( but one near Cors Dyfi yesterday plus a reed warb putting on a virtuoso performance.)
At home the mallard hatched her eggs:8 ducklings. Still no female piedy here yet.
