We have a lot of kite activity over our garden just north of Llangeitho.
On the evening of 2 April, I was watching two wheeling around, although
the light was going (about 8.15 pm); I then went outside with my cheap
camcorder and saw two kites, locked together, tumbling through the sky.
I grabbed 2 seconds of very poor quality video, after which I heard them
crash into the trees across the valley (Afon Aeron); each then flew off
in opposite directions.
What was going on - territorial aggression ? I have seen somewhere a
suggestion that they may mate in the air - really ?! I'm pretty certain
that a pair nested in those trees last year. Attached is the video clip
with apols for its embarrassingly awful quality - I'm new to video, and
the light was obviously poor at that time of night.
Thanks for Ceredigion Birds blog !

I'm afraid I couldn't get the video attachment onto the blog. Sorry!
