Ynys Feurig Thursday morning

Displaying waders the highlight of an interesting hour at the hide with 4 prs of displaying lapwing and at least 3 pairs of redshank. No obvious signs of migration here other than an influx of starlings (160) on the edges of the flood and a small flock of meadow pipits. Nice to have 2 singing skylark. Teal numbers have dropped to 85, with 22 wigeon.  A single grey plover on the edge of the river, and  good numbers of curlew with  85 +. 2 red breasted meganser the only other birds of note. Several singing chiffchaffs on the walk down, and a pair of stonechats on the edge of the peat bog.  Finch migration apparent with a few chaffinches overhead  and a  flock of 10 goldfinches near Ynys Edwin.
A peregrine and a goshawk over Foel Fawr later in the morning.
