Sightings from Ian Harrison

Not strictly Ceredigion, but it does link up with Russell's seawatch at Ynys Las on the 19th.
I had to go to Ireland on a day trip on Wednesday 20th - I took the 11.00 fast ferry from Fishguard which wasn't so fast since they lost an engine half way across. Like Russell at Ynys Las, I was hoping for a Cory's or Sooty Shearwater but had to make do with large numbers of Manx, good numbers of Puffins,a few Gannets, small numbers of juvenile Guillemots with their fathers, fewer numbers of Razorbills. Highlight were two Black Guillemots a mile or so out of Fishguard. (Even better views in Rosslare harbour but that's for the Co. Wexfor birdblog.)
The light was too poor on thew return jouney - 21.00.
House Sparrows and Blue Tits on second broods round my house in Aberaeron. Numbers of Swallows and House Martins dwindling by the day, not because they're heading south but because one of the local Sparrowhawks has discovered they are quite easy to pick off.
