We were blessed with lovely weather for our walk this morning (Saturday) and had a really enjoyable time in a beautiful area. The list of birds seen and heard is :
fulmar, Manx shearwater, gannet, cormorant, shag, scoter, kite, buzzard,
kestrel, peregrine, oystercatcher, herring gull, lesser black backed gull,
kittiwake, sandwich tern, wood pigeon, swallow, meadow pipit, wren, dunnock,
robin, stonechat, blackbird, whitethroat, willow warbler, chiffchaff, great tit,
magpie, chough, raven, house sparrow, linnet, and goldfinch.
Red and I walked around the meadows after lunch and added treecreeper,
chaffinch, greeenfinch and bullfinch to the list.
Interesting extras included ringlet, meadow brown and dark green fritillary
butterflies and an adder (a good one to remember when you are choosing a
picnicking site on the coastal path!).
It was a great day out for us all in a rare patch of good weather and we thank
Alun for showing us the area.
