Found the RC Starling at 8.10 this evening sitting on top of a small hawthorn bush next to what I gather is its favourite dune slope, just N of the main boardwalk near the visitor centre (then found Janet pointing a large lens at it, which it didn't seem to mind at all. I guess when you're that smart you get used to lots of attention from the paparazzi!).
At about 8.20 it flew over to one of the bushes on the seaward side of the centre building, where Janet tells me it usually roosts. About 5 minutes later we watched it take off again and instead of flying to the next bush, rise high in the air and head off high southwards towards Borth, eventually becoming a tiny speck in the binoculars till lost to sight. Will it be back tomorrow, or has it heard the weather forecast too?!!
