Clywedog Plantation

After taking Tomos to school I headed off to Clywedog which lies above Llanfair Clydogau and partly straggles the Carmarthen border.Hoping to see/hear a Cuckoo (I notice some have just turned up) having seen one near here a couple of years ago. But no luck.At least not yet. My hike was curtailed by forestry operations but plenty about;Chiffchaffs,Willow Warblers, Siskins, Redpolls, Tree Pipit. Also wondered if there is still suitable habitat for Nightjars here as I know they have ben recorded in recent years and I would say that there possibly was. But will the weather be suitable for Nightjar observing? Back down at the Coop in Lampeter the woman on the checkout just happened to mention that "it's going to be hot and dry like '76." Keep a raincoat handy. Sounds like it going to **** down all summer.Again.
