Recent sightings from Matt Potter

Yesterday, there were four Purple Sandpipers on the usual part of the wall at Castle Point. Further along the prom at College Rocks, there was a Kingfisher sat above a rock pool.

Today, as I made a cup of tea in the communal kitchen at the side of the Cambria building (I have an office in the Cambria) I was looking across some of the slated roofs and a stunning male Black Redstart popped up and flew onto the ridge of one of the roofs then flew off towards St Michaels Place.

Back to the office and it overlooks the pier so the view of the Starlings at roost is incredible and that murmuration is growing daily!

Some old news from mid October, I forgot to send in sigthings on South Beach of four Knott, several Dunlins and 20+ each of Turnstones and Ringed Plovers.
During the same week, in our garden, there was a battle between two Mistle Thrush, a Song Thrush and 20 or so Redwings on the Rowan berries in the trees at the back of our garden.
