I've received the following message which I'm happy to pass on to you.
Dear Ceredigion Birds,
Ahead of the Welsh Government review of Glastir expected next January, RSPB Cymru have launched a campaign urging the Minister for Natural Resources and Food, Alun Davies to;
• Commit the maximum amount of money allowed to Glastir to help wildlife friendly farmers improve our countryside for nature
• Ensure Glastir guarantees that farmland wildlife has everything it needs to thrive
• View Glastir as a key part of a wider plan to reverse wildlife decline by 2020
80% of the Welsh countryside is farmed land, no other form of land use is more important for wildlife. Glastir has the potential to do more than anything else to help restore our beleaguered wildlife, but if poorly-designed it could condemn species to nothing but further declines.
We are contacting you to raise awareness of the campaign and to ask whether Ceredigion Birds would be able to promote the Glastir campaign on its website, through its members and it’s social media outlets.
To find out more about the campaign you can view our E action and latest blog post.
