Lowland and Upland

A walk around the garden for half an hour or so this morning with notebook and 'bins' produced a list of 23 different species - mainly the common garden birds as expected but also Bullfinch, Greenfinch, Siskin, Goldfinch, Blackcap, Whitethroat, Goldcrest, Nuthatch, apir of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers, Kite, Heron, and also a colour ringed Great Tit - Red/Orange and Orange/BTO ring. Only one pair of Swallows taken up residence in our barn so far this year compared with the usual three of later years.

An early evening walk around Syfydrin was very quiet except for a large flock of Swallows feeding above the rushy ground between the lake and woodland on the north-west shore. Six juvenile Canada gees came in and then delightfully a pair of Sandpipers on the dam wall. A lot more Swallows feeding over Pendam.
