Dec 1 our first Brambling sighting and on our feeding station feeding with the chaffinches on spilt Niger seed, a male, what a handsome bird. Our usual visitors were busy eating us out of house and home! - resident Goldfinches who have kept their numbers up 20+ by introducing their young throughout the summer, also Siskins ditto. Have not noticed Bullfinches for a couple of years but a male has already started on the Blackcurrant buds - no jam next year then!
