LEUCISTIC COMMON GULL

This afternoon, Chris Bird once again found this unusual but regular winter visitor to Aberystwyth on College Rocks.
Yesterday he was sure that he had found a female Ring-necked Duck on Lyn Blaenmelindwr but fading light handicapped the identification. There was no sign of the bird on any of the lakes off the Pendam Mountain Road today. However, especially in view of the male Ring-necked which spent two recent winters in the county, Chris feels that any female Tufted Duck is worth a second glance.
