A visit to the point at Ynyslas this afternoon at high tide was marred by the presence of an apparently lost dog running the tide line. Needless to say there were no birds to be seen other than a bunch of Oystercatcher disappearing in the distance. The dog later appeared to belong to a couple about half a mile away!!
Back along the saltings about 120 Widgeon and a few Curlew along with the usual five Mute Swans. A Hen Harrier made a sortie over the Spartina before disappearing up the estuary.
As the sun dipped towards the horizon a further walk up the Leri towards Borth searching for the possible Starling roost - but without success. The only Starlings seen were clearly going for a night out on Aber pier. However a couple of Redshank, some flighting Canada's and the flushing of two Common Snipe from the side of the path made up for the absence of a roost.
