I had just got to Tanybwlch this afternoon when I got a call from Chris Bird who was across the river at the old tip site. I dashed over there to see a couple of Wheatears on the adjacent meadow, on the east side of the river Ystwyth.
I contacted Birdline Wales and Chris informed Birdguides. We met later at Morrisons (yes, birdwatchers also do the shopping) and the chap at Birdguides told him that they were the most northerly Wheatears reported so far.
So, well done Chris and well done those those Wheatears, our first summer migrants!!
