Yellowhammer

On our walk along the foot of Foel Fawr this morning, near the start I caught sound of, then sight of a pair of Yellowhammer, not quite in full song. As soon as I located them they flew over us and away out of sight. On my way back along the same route though I spotted a single male high in a tree close to the earlier sighting. Also seen, (a first for me in this location) were 3 Crossbill, 2 male & 1 female. With Song Thrush singing, Blue, Great, Coal and Long-tailed Tit, 4 different finches and other odds and ends it was a delightful start to the day.
