Plynlimon today

Had the fortunate to visit Plynlimon today. I walked up to Llygad Rheidol and then over to Craig-y-march, Hengwm. Just before getting there had 5 Dotterel (presumed three females and 2 males) running about within 20 foot of me before flying and alighting roughly 60 foot away. Nicest views I have had of the species here in Ceredigion. On my way back to the car, about an hour and a half later I had traversed the main ridge back to the Summit. On leaving the summit and heading down towards Nant-y-moch I flushed another party, of four this time, whcih flew north around the corner towards Llygad Rheidol.

Just as well for the Dotterel as, the wind was really strong and no other birds apart from a handful of Wheatears, a few M'ipits and a couple of Pied Wagtails, was all that I saw up on the tops.
