Surveyed a couple of tetrads high above Llanddewi this morning. These areas were vitually birdless in the winter but were far from so today. Birds seen inc. Grasshopper Warbler 2, Stonechat 1 and Reed Bunting 1, at Waun Maenllwyd. Another Grasshopper was reeling in Cwm Twrch along with a Cuckoo calling. 4 Crossbills were in the Bryn Du area.
Also stumbled across a family of Foxes in Bryn Rhyd. On the open summit of Bryn Brawd a large brown moth with pale patches flew past quickly and jerkily. Possibly a Northern Eggar looking at the field guide but couldn't say for sure.
