Long Wood, Betws Bledrws
Everything was very wonderful and warblery in the woods today it seemed. I was able to count good numbers of all the expected species; Chiffchaff 24, Willow Warbler 25, Blackcap 13, Garden Warbler 9. I also saw 8 singing Wood Warblers which is the most I've seen at Long Wood and was especially pleasing as for some reason I was expecting the worse when I set off this morning. Three Pied Flycatchers were closely asociated with the boxes at either end of the woodland and I dare say that if more were provided then more Flycatchers might be the result. A Hare was near one of the hill forts.
