A male Spotted Flycatcher has been singing (charming bird but wimpish song) in the garden for the last few days but still no mate.
He has checked out his nest box but so have a pair of Redstart.
I hope the spotties are late this year and more will turn up. My friend from near Lampeter said that she had never not had any till this year but e-mailed today that 3 had turned up.
I fear this is a severely threatened species. Any other sightings? Liz, has yours got a mate yet?
