WHOOPER SWANS at TRISANT

A pair of Whooper Swans remained on one of the Trisant lakes until well into April. Early on 17th I heard at least one of them calling and assumed they were about to leave for Iceland. However I was told that one of the pair was flying around calling and that eventually it flew off alone.
The remining bird made it to a nearby, privately owned pool where it has remained ever since. It cannot fly and is being looked after by the kindly couple who own the pool who put grain out for it. It would be nice to think that it will be OK until the autumn when the birds from Iceland return.
