ABERYSTWYTH and COLOUR-RINGED MED. GULL

Harry Pepper had a good little session on the prom early this morning with an Arctic Skua passing by and another, unidentified Skua far out. Also a Fulmar, juv Kittewake and several Manx Shearwaters. A noisy Greenshank passed low overhead.
A Kingfisher has been seen on College Rocks at least twice this week and I have finally caught up with Chris Bird and have twice seen the drake Goosander in eclipse plumage near the mouth of the harbour.
Earlier this month on 5th I mentioned that amongst a large flock of Mediterranean Gulls Harry and I saw at Aberarth, there was a colour-ringed bird, Green R35T. The details of this bird were sent to me and it was ringed as a youngster (pullus) at Polder de Sebastopol, Vendee, France on 30th June 2009. It was seen at Plomodiern, Finistere, France on 19th June 2010 before making its way to Ceredigion.
