Borth and Ynyslas

Rather quiet at Borth with only a few manx shearwaters south between 0700 and 0800 though 3 red-throated divers and a great northern diver heading south made up for the lack of other sea birds. A very smart adult Meditteranean gull was feeding with black-headed gulls just a few feet from the car where I was sea-watching from the back seat. At Ynyslas there were 64 ringed plover, 11 sanderling and 2 knot though very few dunlin as the tide was not very high and they must have been feeding further up the estuary. The first barnacle geese arrived at Ynys-hir on Saturday with c. 150 on the saltings from the Marian Mawr hide.
