Having seen Kate Humble at Ynyslas (with a Golden Eagle on her arm!) and then again later in the day with Chris Packham at the end of Aber's pier watching the Starlings flying in to roost, those spots will never seem quite the same again. Also at Ynyslas was Iolo Williams with another film crew. So, almost more TV wildlife presenters than good birds; but not quite.
3 Snow Buntings were very obliging at Ynyslas Turn and a Great Northern Diver came into the estuary on the rising tide. Finally, almost within sight of home and nearly dark, there were 3 Whooper Swans on Bwlchcryws pond, just west of Devil's Bridge.
Even better was the number of birdwatching colleagues I met up with, mostly local but a couple from further afield. A great day.
(Look out for some Ceredigion localities during this Thursday's AutumnWatch.)
