YNYSLAS

This morning Harry, Bob, David (from RSPB Ynys-hir) and myself were at Ynyslas Turn car park where the Surf Scoter was easily viewable just beyond the breaking waves. It always seems to keep close to Common Scoters of which there were a dozen or so nearby.
(Not so easy to photograph though, unlike the next species.)
We then moved on to the mouth of the Dyfi at Ynyslas where Russell was watching a couple of Great Northern Divers. They had been feeding on crabs near the mouth of the Leri and having given us good views, began to drift out with the   tide. One of them was more in summer plumage than not.
