Some very late reports from me, of the Starling roost Buzzard returning at
least 7 times now, including one visit where it ended up beneath the waves
for at least 10 seconds before emerging 'on foot' on one of the diagonal
supports of the pier. A Peregrine made an appearance on two visits, on the
17th and 19th, both times successful, and flying out to sea and North with
it's catch.
At Ynys-Hir last Saturday, from the Breakwater Hide at high tide, there
were small numbers of Barnacle Geese, up to 10 Pintail, a single
Goldeneye, many Wigeon and Teal and 4 Shoveller. Of waders, there were
many Curlew and Redshank, and a single Grey Plover amongst them. A fine
male Merlin flew over the reeds in front of the hide, disturbed by a
passing train and flying down river and out of site. Back at the visitor's
center, the Bittern didn't show, but there were 2 Brambling on the feeder
in the early afternoon.
I don't know if anybody else has picked up on this:

But I thought it might be of interest.
Back in Aberystwyth and a Goldcrest has taken up residence in the single
tree at the bottom of the garden, 14 days running now, and a large
Sparrowhawk over on Wednesday.
