At Clarach beach this morning around 9.30 am, a male Goosander caught a
sizeable fish, and proceeded to swallow it, pursued by the female. A seal
also showed up near them, presumably attracted by the shoal of fish.
An hour later, as I walked back to Aberystwyth past Constitution Hill and
round the top of the gold course, the fields next to the footpath were
visited by a mixed flock of Starlings and Song Thrushes, with about 8
Redwings and 2 Fieldfares.
