Field Trip Report

I couldn't make the trip today but I understand that 24 others did attend. Thanks to Jon for leading and here is the list of birds seen, thanks as usual to Moira -

Here is the list of birds seen or heard by the wellly shod intrepids who fought their way through the bog today.

Blue tit, siskin, greenfinch, goldfinch, Canada goose, lapwing, buzzard, fieldfare, woodpigeon, skylark, house sparrow, nuthatch, heron, wigeon, tufted duck, great spotted woodpecker, red kite, mallard, great black-backed gull, lesser redpoll, reed bunting, mute swan, cormorant, teal, snipe, greylag goose, goosander, herring gull, hen harrier, chaffinch, great tit, bullfinch, sparrowhawk, robin.

Some of these were spotted before the bulk of the group arrived.

A special treat afterwards. Most of the group went to Pontrhydygroes and watched the golden eagle soaring with two buzzards. The size difference was impressive.
