Update re the Field Trip on Saturday........

Jon Turner has sent the following information regarding Saturday's Field Trip -

Paul Culyer, CCW's Cors Caron warden, has suggested that a walk up the west bank of the River Teifi would be worthwhile, so on his advice I'm proposing the following route ( a round trip, weather and river levels permitting). The car arrangements take a bit of logistical planning, but there's the chance to see part of the reserve that may be new to some.
Meet (as previously announced) at the main CCW Reserve Car-Park at 10am. From there drive down to Pont Einon (the main road bridge at south end of bog), sharing cars to reduce the number of vehicles needed (only limited parking at bridge). Walk up the west bank of the river, as far as the edge of the West Bog; and continue to the big footbridge across the Teifi, from where a minor path will take us up to join the boardwalk near the observation hide. We can then return round the boardwalk and back to the CCW car park - and seek the generosity of one of the remaining car owners to take the drivers back to Pont Einon to collect their cars.
Paul tells me that the route is muddy in places at the moment, but not too bad. Parts may be tussocky underfoot so stout, waterproof footware is a good idea. I will check with him for river levels etc on Friday in case of rain between now and then. The current forecast for Saturday itself is for a bright sunny day. Should the route across the river be too wet we can retrace our steps to the bridge and still hopefully enjoy a pleasant walk.
For prospective eagle spotters, Pontrhydygroes is not too far away, should anyone wish to consider a pub lunch at the Miners Arms afterwards.
