Woodchat Shrike at Ynyslas

A quick lunchtime check on Birdguides had me grabbing my binoculars and heading for Ynyslas: to watch a Woodchat Shrike feeding along the fenceline behind the houses, along the road from Ynyslas Turn to the beach. Bob, Janet, Mervyn and I got nice views from the road verge - here's a digiscoped record shot; the heat haze prevented a sharper image, although hopefully Janet will have some much better ones!
The bird was first reported by a visitor this morning, although Janet says her neighbour thinks he saw it 2-3 days ago. From a check in the Collins Birdguide it seems to be an adult female. It's the 3rd county record; the last was at Llangrannog in 1994 and the first at Glandyfi in 1954 (info from Hywel's book). Mervyn and his brother-in-law report 3 Ospreys at Cors Dyfi this morning, including the pair still at the nest site.
