Borth and Aberleri this morning
I visited Borth this morning and saw c250 Gannets and c2,000 Manxies off shore. When first seen the Gannets were plunging into the sea like mad things. I assume that there is a good supply of small fish around at present, long may it continue. I bumped into Arfon and John Valentine at the turn car park later. There was a mixed flock of Whimbrel and Barwits parked there when I arrived, possibly 50 or 60 birds. We all went to Aberleri after a while, (Arfon, John and me, not the Whimbrels and Barwits) where we saw more of the same plus a few Dunlin, a single Brent Goose and several Ringed Plover. I must have been too late for the Terns!
