A visit toYnyslas this morning at high tide was marked by a paucity of birds - nothing to be seen from the turn car park; at the point a small mixed flock of Dunlin and Ringed Plover. Alongide the Leri, in the Spartina on the far bank, were 12 Whimbrel and two Dunlin. A walk up the Leri to Glandwr was frutiful for the Sedge Warblers, and Reed Buntings in the willows alongside of the track. No sign of the Wood Sandpiper - I am not surprised with the cacaphony from the Canada Geese on the flash. Lapwings displaying in the background were suddenly disturbed by a low flying Peregrine. About eight Goldfinches were on the Leri bank as I returned and two broods of Mallard - a five and a three were in the the ditch.
