Late this afternoon a stroll along the railway yielded a male redstart, kestrel, pair of whinchat, willow tit pair with one young being fed,the whitest buzzard I've seen this side of Lac du Der and two kites appearing to cooperate in hunting down a young buzzard which had picked up a small item of food. When the buzzard released its catch the hassling kite pealed away leaving the following one to catch the prey... or that's what appeared to happen.
Lots of peacock butterflies and still plenty of flowers.
