Waders and terns
With slowly deteriorating visibility at Borth, peering through the gloom for an hour some 1000 manx shearwaters were passing, mainly south. At high-tide at Ynyslas a bit later, at the mouth of the Leri, 178 sandwich terns were loafing on the sand along with 209 ringed plover, 60 dunlin, 7 sanderling, a turnstone and a ruff (the latter the first for the year for me, having missed all the others at Glandwr).
