Computer overload
Having spent all day on the computer and suffering from far too much technology, a quick visit to the Breakwater hide at RSPB Ynys-hir was called for. Out on the salt marsh around 800 wigeon were feeding along with 5 grey plover, a knot, 26 ringed plover and 40 dunlin. An adult Med. gull flew down river and two arctic terns were fishing against the strengthening wind. Both peregrine and merlin had a go at the startling flocks and both failed though the waders and wigeon were a bit spooked. On the Breakwater fields a single black-tailed godwit and a juv. ruff fed amongst the teal and lapwings. A very productive short break I must admit.
