The grey,windy and showery weather had subdued small bird activity along the railway today and I was already missing the heat and birding wonders of Spain when tearing through my binocular view was an unmistakeable image...a male Hen Harrier! Cliche it might be but my heart missed a beat. Can't help it. Must be love. He had a female companion and together they raced downwind to then turn and hunt upwind..brilliant.
