My garden Mistle Thrush has become a regular visitor now in fact there were two yesterday with a bit of jostling for pole position going on. I see now why they have the nickname of Stormcock during recent high winds when the other garden birds were keeping a low profile my Ms Thrush appeared to relish perching in the highest position bolt upright head into the wind. Also noticed yesterday a Carrion Crow perched on my neighbours chimney ‘smoke bathing’ ruffled feathers, wings and head down the chimney he was having a great old time and even came back for a second session. Down the Rheidol valley a sad end to the Grey Heron that has been frequenting ‘Trotters Pool’ just below Aberffryd Bridge and often seen in the middle of the field just before the turning; a pile of feathers on the poolside is all that remains! A bat was feeding in broad daylight over the river medium size not Pipisrelle. Singles of Dipper and Sparrow-hawk, large finch flocks especially Gold at least five Goosander, Red Kites everywhere you look and the re-emergence of around a dozen or so Swallows and a couple of Hs Martins they have been off the scene for days.
