The number of dipper sightings reported on this blog is testament to the affection which many of us have for this enigmatic little bird so fellow enthusiasts may be interested in learning more about the fate of the Shropshire populations.
www.midwalesringers.blogspot.com has a link to the Teme valley Dipper report which makes fascinating reading and although is not about Ceredigion's dippers may be a warning of what might be happening in our rivers. Tony Cross has worked for many years on dipper surveys and the report is based on(and describes) much of his fieldwork carried out in dark,cold, winter waters. Hopefully the disconcerting results will be investigated by the Environment Agency to provide some answers.
