Meurig and I started our trip at Tynygraig with 60 Lapwings on one of the roadside meadows. Taking many a small lane through countryside where Fieldfares and Redwings are normally seen we encountered not one.
Reaching Ystrad Caron, just south of Tregaron, there were 10 Whooper Swans including 2 adults with 3 youngsters.
Just to the north of the town, beside the B4343, were 156 Lapwings on one field and further on, 245 more and 150 Golden Plovers.
