Two new species for Tir Sisial today - both previously suspected but now
confirmed. Very satisfying.
Early this morning a Goshawk circled round. It was being mobbed by a
Sparrowhawk and must have been a female as the Sprawk looked tiny!
Later on, a group of 5 Redpoll were feeding on Birch cones near the top of
the South bank.
By the way, having brought people's attention (June 2011) to the footpath
we have opened on the South side, I should point out that the centre
section is closed for a month or so while a load of Western Hemlock is
felled. There's still a good walk to be had from either end though!
