A rapid visit to the 'Caron Pavilion' out on the end of the boardwalk this afternoon was rewarding. Most of the pools were frozen but the one in front of the hide still had some open water. Instead of the usual marked absenceo of birds there were probably over 100 duck on the pool mainly Mallard and Teal together with a few Wigeon and a lone Mute Swan. Four Whoopers flew down the river and a couple of Heron. Photo a bit blurred - taken through the somewhat misty Plexiglass of the hide!
