The evening gathering really is a must-see spectacle. The whole roost flock of countless thousands is still tending to circle low over the sea-front for 40 minutes or so before they all descend under the pier.
Yesterday their relatively leisurely displays were interupted by a Peregrine which came in low from the sea and the whole flock condensed into a solid black mass of birds just above us. An amazing sight and sound. If you have not been to see them, you must!
