A Bit of a Round Up!

Last weekend, I had a walk around Coed Dolgoed for the first time. Excellent place and one to keep an eye on! I can see why Andre Marsh visits a lot!

Species seen and Heard:-
Great Spotted Woodpecker both male and female, Male was drumming and displaying.
Chaffinch
Greenfinch
Siskin
Crossbill
Song Thrush
Mistle Thrush
Blue, Great and Coal Tit
Dunnock
Wren
Buzzard
And a flock of 10 Jays making a lot of noise as I approached the Wood from the track.

On the Rheidol by Glanyrafon, a single Mute Swan has been around for a few days. On Glanyrafon, a Rookery is starting to be constructed. Lots of Bird song now in most places.

In Ystumtuen, at least 3 Yellowhammers were calling last weekend.

And some sizeable gull flocks have been in many fields along the A44 containig mainly Herring, Blackheaded and Common Gulls.
