The Black-headed Gull with the white ring marked 22C7, ringed as a chick in Berkshire 2 summers ago which spent last winter at Aberystwyth was seen yet again this winter by Chris Bird by the harbour on Monday.
This is probably one of the Mediterranean Gulls seen by Ian at Llanrhystud today. When Bob and I were there today we noticed 4 adults, a second winter and a first winter bird.Also of interest was a leucistic Herring Gull, some way offshore hence the poor quality of the photo but I thought it would still be of interest.
Later, at New Quay it was pleasing to see a good number of Guillemots and Razorbills on one of the cliffs and the sight and sound of returning Kittewakes.
