In anticipation of hirundines at Ynys-hir

I've still not seen any hirundines at Ynys-hir (apart from a single Sand Martin on Sunday) but Chiffchaffs are about and the Green Sandpiper is still showing very nicely in front of the visitor centre. Last Saturday there were at least 25 White-fronted Geese viewable from Marian Mawr hide and today there was a single dark-bellied Brent Goose there.
I'm thinking there is a wonderful abundance of Goldcrests about this year. This afternoon at Ynys-hir I watched one for five minutes or so above the footpath close to the railway bridge. Yesterday I was enchanted as I watched one on the path to the Saltings hide - I stood stock still and it came so close I could almost have reached out and touched it. On Tuesday I saw another at a different location. Last week I saw five on a single Buster walk and I've heard lots more - I'm delighted that I can still hear them!
