Creeping through the trees

Spent a few hours today scampering round a few local woods, (Allt Clwt Patrwm, Allt Glan March, Allt cefn y Garn and the newly accessible paths at Llanerchaeron). There were good numbers of Blackcaps singing and I saw 9 Treecreepers in all. There were 4 Pied Flycatchers and a Spotted at the first site, two pairs of Spotted Flycatchers at the second, another Spotted at the third and 6 Pieds and a Marsh Tit at Llanerchaeron. A species notable by its absence was Wood Warbler. I thought I might have seen one or two. Just late or fewer about? Yesterday, there were single Curlew and Redshank calling at Ystrad Caron.
