The weather was dry and chilly today as six of us walked over the hills to
Llyn Eiddwen. The birds were a little reluctant to show themselves but the
views were still there and very impressive they were too.

The bird list was : Canada goose, kestrel, wood pigeon, great spotted
woodpecker, skylark, swallow, meadow pipit (plenty of these), robin,
stonechat, carrion crow, raven, and goldfinch.

The walk ended at Rachel's house where we were all treated to coffee and
biscuits - a very pleasant and civilized way to do things. Thanks to Rachel
and her husband for their hospitality. From the comfort of their garden room
we added buzzard, pheasant, blackbird, blue tit, chaffinch, and greenfinch to our
list.

The birds were, perhaps, not plentiful but the walk was interesting, the
company was pleasant and the views were spectacular so a good time was had by
all.

I look forward to next month (27th) and Broadwater.
