Phillip Ellis and I strolled along the coast path south of Llanrhystud in glorious sunshine. No Snow Buntings but a lone dark-bellied Brent Goose which flew along the shore northwards only to return shortly heading south. 11 Mediterranean Gulls were just offshore and 3 Gannets further out, 38 Turnstones were along the shore, 27 Golden Plovers circled overhead, a Chough settled on a nearby post, a Merlin dashed past, almost brushing Phil's shoulder and 58 Curlews were on a cliff-top meadow at Llansantffraed. A Great Northern Diver came up from the south and settled on the sea to the north of Llanrhystud.
Later at Tanybwlch I met Mike and Mrs Hayward and Mike drew my attention to a Wheatear and he thought there may have been 2 present. Yesterday's birds?
