The happy birder

A very satisfactory morning and sunshine too. There were a few Wigeon and Teal at Pont Gogoyan along with Dipper and 2 Little Grebes. Nearby at Pant Pool 4 more Little Grebes, single Tuftie and 20 Mute Swans. A male Hen Harrier was present at Pont Einon and also a couple of Snipe. Eleven Tufted Ducks were on Maes Lllyn Pool. Drove on round to the Ystrad Meurig car park where there were 30 Redpoll, 20 Long tailed Tits, 3 Stonechats, 2 Willow Tits and a Treecreeper. At half eleven headed for home. I was driving down the side of the reserve when something caught my eye high up. Screeched to halt. The Golden Eagle was soaring over the centre of Cors Caron. Fantastic views for several minutes before it headed off over the Snell household as far as I could tell. Awesome wings!
