Cors Caron

A good start at Pont Einon with both male and ringtail Hen Harrier hunting over the south end of the bog.
Early in the morning there had been an influx of Fieldfares into Lledrod, at least 50 plus a few Redwings, so I was not surprised to find large numbers around the boardwalk car park; an estimated 300 Fieldfares with just a few Redwings , though later I came across about 110 Redwings just north of Maesllyn.
On Maesllyn, five Tufted Ducks, three Wigeon, eight Teal, a Coot, a Goosander and my first Goldeneye of the winter, a female.
Back at the car park, patience was rewarded by a female Brambling on the feeders and two parties of eight and four Wigeon flew over.

While hanging around the car park I also met Pete and Elaine, hopefully two more for the monthly bird walk, and then Lyn with Julie and Derek, who told me about the Short-eared Owl which they had here yesterday.
